UTSA Concert Choirs -- Mixed and Women's -- have been selected to represent Texas in the 2006 American Celebration of Music in Austria, which will also mark Mozart's 250th anniversary. We'll be touring and performing in Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague over a span of 8 days.

*squeak* I'm going to Europe!

That being said, women's choir is difficult for a non-music major like me. The other girls' sightreading skills are several levels higher than mine, and I tend to lag behind in the more difficult pieces. It doesn't help that I'm a sop. II, either. I am trying my best not to be left behind.

Up side: Once I've grasped the music, I can hold the part; I have significant experience in singing in German, Latin, Italian, Hebrew, and French; and vocal techniques are down pat. It makes me truly appreciate what I've been taught.

The first week of classes have come to an abrupt and tiring end. My roomie and I were planning on going to a local party, but decided against it at the last minute. We were too fatigued from classes, the heat, and being women, so we ordered pizza and watch What Not to Wear.

Hello, everyone, I'm all settled in at Chase Hills. The internet situation is iffy at best right now because I'm actually mooching off of one of the neighbors. I'll have a landline, cable, and internet on the 25th. Until then!
