Yamaguchi Momoe

You see, there's this one song called "Play Back pt.2" by a Japanese pop sensation back in the '70-'80s, and I always thought the title was rather odd. (Here's a video.)

But I was just looking up old songs when I came across ... "PLAY BACK PT.1"! I thought my parents might enjoy this:

Texting Love

Me: tooth extraction (blah blah blah) cavities (blah blah) poo.

Mom: So nice! Do treatment & make teeth :) we send money if u need it.
(10:52AM Mon. May 5)

I've decided that since my mom's texts are awesome I'll post them here. This is so much easier to share them with friends, too.

I slept wonderfully with the exception of the pressure washers at 8am. (-_-) In other news, iChat is my friend.

I only took the vicodin for 3 days, but I went through a pretty intense withdrawal anyway. I'm guess being alone was a bad idea because it got really lonesome. I don't want to ever want to do that again.

Grant's going to be in the Woodlands this week for Mother's Day and to keep his mom company while his dad's away in Japan for a business trip. That leaves Julia to run rampant ... not really. I'm still taking the pain meds, so I can only drive in the 1 hour between it wearing off and having to take another one. The clot's coming along nicely, though.

Things to do today:

Go to bank
Go to Bill Miller, tell them Vicodin+work is no good
Plan out summer school

Bye bye, #19

I had my tooth pulled today, and I have to say I was absolutely right in thinking #19 wasn't going to be a clean extraction. I heard the dentist say, "Aah!" at least 3 times. And he didn't say that in the enlightened/delighted sort of way, either. He said it like he saw a cockroach. In my mouth. The roots were so brittle that it literally shattered each time he tried to wiggle it out. He had to drill it in half, and then he had to drill the bone to get the rest of it. There were 3 roots to the tooth, which is apparently rare and could possibly explain why the 2 root canals failed. Woo? Three's a lucky number. You know, three surgeries on the tooth, three crown replacements, three roots. Maybe I'll heal faster with this luck(?) on my side.

#@%&*!

Have I ever introduced you guys to #19? #19, world. World, #19, a.k.a. my lower left 1st molar. My relationship with this tooth has been a long and rocky one, but I can finally part with it when it will be extracted on Thursday. It's had 2 (failed) root canals and a crown that's fallen off three times. It's infected all the way around the root, and the gum line above is swollen. There's some good news!  The nerve is dead thanks to the unsteady hands of the dentist who performed the first root canal - which, by the way, was done unanesthetized - so the pain that should have reduced me to a quivering heap is just an occasional dull throb. I also have a handful of chipped, cracked and missing fillings because the dentist who did the second root canal used cheap fillings in the other teeth, and I also have some unexplained gum recession and 3 cavities. Knowing that #19 isn't going to go quietly the dentist armed me with a full bottle of antibiotics and prescription hydrocodone. Hydrocodone makes me act brave. And slur.

Y'know wha', #19? Bring it.
